one mile of cap collecting

Another round of bottle cap collecting...

84 white, 44 blue, 15 red, 11 green, 11 black, 7 orange, 6 yellow, 1 purple and 1 pink = 180 caps
and other random items. I did find a few sea beans, but far more bottle caps.

  1. I can't believe that you found so many bottle caps on the beach!!! The mermaid & the other sand toys are treasures but I'm surprised that anyone who loves the beach would leave their trash behind...I'm guessing you must have a plan for your collection...laid- out like that, it looks like art!

  2. I have been trying different craft ideas. I will share them once I work out how to connect the caps. Hot glue has not been too successful at this point. We did use the bottle caps as part of a recyled craft recently, they make great eyes.

True, it is sad so much trash and plastic makes it into the environment. One of the saddest effects is on wildlife, especially sea birds, pick up caps as food. Parent birds seeking food for thier young see bottle caps as another food item, thus filling their chicks with trash and not food. Its really quite sickening.

So picking up caps on the beach seems like a pretty useful activity.
